The GCHS Alumni Fund is a means of honoring departed class members as well as acknowledging the lifelong benefits graduates have received from attending Garden City High School.

Planning a class reunion? Please use this opportunity to support sponsoring a gift to the school. Alumni from Garden City High School are pleased to announce that the 'Garden City High School Alumni Fund' is up and running. The program was started in 1999 and has developed into a program available for all alumni reunions. We hope your reunion committee supports this program with a coordinated donation on behalf of the class.

The funds are intended to be used on school improvement projects sponsored by Garden City High School Alumni. Typical suggestions have included

• new outdoor seating in the school courtyard
• new lighting and equipment for the Inez Spires Auditorium
• a microscope to further support science research projects
• art display cases, etc.
• The 2000-2001 gift will also include a small scholarship to a graduating senior.
• Additional funds support the GCHS Student Aid and Scholarship loan program.

The Garden City High School Alumni Fund is associated with the Garden City Student Aid and Scholarship Fund, a not- for- profit organization which provides scholarships and loans for GCHS graduates. The Student Aid and Scholarship Fund is a well directed organization with a good track record, and is a member of the Garden City Community Fund. By linking up with this organization, the new GCHS Alumni Fund has an established financial base so that each reunion class can contribute towards a common goal. Each year, a committee will be established represented by reunion classes to help designate the gift. All reunions are invited to support both funds. Donations are tax deductible in accordance with IRS regulations.
